Wynwood Street Art
We are firm believers in not having to go far to have a new adventure. Sometimes, you can even travel to the same place and have a whole new experience. That’s how we feel about the Wynwood area of Miami. With its ever changing street art and murals, it guarantees it’s visitors a different experience every time.
Wynwood is a neighborhood of Miami, just north of downtown. Years ago, it was rundown and considered unsafe. Warehouses were deserted and stores unoccupied. But then Tony Goldman came along. He realized the potential that the neighborhood had and started purchasing warehouses and inviting artists from all over the world to paint murals on them.
Over the years, Wynwood has grown in popularity and is now considered one of the trendiest neighborhoods of Miami. There are cafes, shops, and art galleries. And every December, over 70,000 people flock to the area for Art Basel, a week long fair/festival where top artists showcase their prized pieces.
During this time, many of the walls in Wynwood are repainted. But really, new street art and murals are popping up year round. That’s why we love going back so often. On our latest trip down to Wynwood, we went around and admired the new paintings. Some where inspirational. Some were sexy. Others paid tribute to local icons. All of them unique and special in their own way.
Below were some of our favorites…
Like we said earlier, you don’t always have to travel far to experience something new. And you might not have a lot of time or money. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a new adventure.
We loved spending the day in Wynwood; it’s a place that always offers a variety of different things to see and do and we can’t wait until our next visit.

Wow, so cool, really like the first graffiti 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
I completely agree with your opener here, you can totally visit the same place multiple times and have a new experience! These murals are out of this world, what an interesting place to check out! I especially love the really colorful ones and the red/black/white one!
I love street art. And while I like it when elaborate pieces can stay up for a long time. It’s also cool to see the constantly evolving pieces.
Loved this photos. The art style is so different, and well done. It cool that new ones are always popping up.
We have a similar street art neighbourhood called the ‘Northern Quarter’ here in Manchester which is like an hippy area that is FULL of cool street art like this. I love how the different artists make their mark and they’re all so different every corner you turn. It’s a travel bloggers’s instagram dream haha! I think I’d really like Wynwood, you’ll have to take me when I come visit you 😉
I’ve been seeing more and more posts about Wynwood. It’s definitely firmly on my radar of places to visit when I make my first trip to Miami 🙂
Although I visited Miami twice before, I never went in this neighborhood, but now, after reading your article, I regret that. How beautiful are the graffiti sites! My favorite is the one in the third image.
Miami is always a place I love visiting. I love how you mentioned that you don’t have to travel that far to experience something so beautiful. I am so glad that they revived the Wynwood area and that artist like those pictured have the ability to express their creativity.
I want to go back! I loved my visit that wasn’t long enough, I need at least a full day to wander and explore. Thanks for sharing what is new!
This is not the image you usually get of Miami! I’ve only pictured it as glam people, beaches and art deco building. I love street art and would love to visit this neighbourhood.
I love street art. This would be a place I absolutely adore. I love the one that says Love without measure and live without fear.
Incredible street art! I’ve seen so many great works of art on the streets of Florida.I wonder why it’s so big there. I’d love to make it to Art Basel one of these years. We were in Venice, Italy a few years ago and just missed it there which was a bummer. One day I’ll make it and I hope to get some great pics like these for my collection.
These are really cool Love street art. So very vibrant
I love this. These are really nice street arts. I have some nice ones in my town too makes me want to go take some pictures of them. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks Amber! What town are you from?
