Street art in Reykjavik, Iceland is growing in popularity. Here are a few of our favorite pieces from our time exploring the city.

 

Street Art In Reykjavik

Reykjavik can have stark contrasts of bright colors and gray facades; minimalist design and ornate styles. It’s interesting to see that a city known for Hallgrímskirkja Church, with its sleek and modern design, can also have such cool and gritty street art. We even recognized some of the murals’ painters from pieces they’ve done in Miami’s neighborhood of Wynwood (an area well known for its street art).

We’ve really been making an effort to find street art wherever we go and get so excited when we find awesome pieces like these. The street art in Reykjavik definitely did not disappoint. The unicorn mural was our favorite.

  2. Their street art is based on all kinds of themes. The one on horror is so real like. Loved the science based one too. Something different from Iceland.:)

  10. Interesting to see that Iceland hasn’t escaped the current global phenomenon of street art. This looks right up there with some of the best I’ve seen. Vibrant, and such a celebration of a great skill.
