Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay: Your Home Away From Home
A home away from home; that’s what the Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay became for us during our stay in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay
When we arrived at the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay, we were greeted with music, smiles, and drinks. We could tell right away it was going to be a great weekend.
Our Room
After a smooth check in, we were shown to our suite. It included a good sized living area, as well as a huge comfy bed (with awesome pillows!), and a giant bathroom (whirlpool anyone?).
The suite had an ocean view, and when we walked out of our private balcony, we could literally take a few steps and walk out onto the beach. We were also given a very tasty plate of fresh fruit.
The Food
Remember, vacation calories don’t count! And that’s a good thing when you have so many dining options. The Portside Buffet is the resort’s main restaurant and offers a variety of food along with great views of the pool and ocean. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and requires no reservations.
There are also three other restaurants that are included with the all-inclusive meal package. They require reservations and have a nicer dress code. On our first night we ate at the Seabreeze Restaurant which serves mostly seafood. The tropical decor and laid back ambiance set the mood for the the relaxing weekend we were about to have. The views from our seats on the outdoor patio were great also.
The second night we ate at Sorrento Italian. This restaurant is a bit more upscale with delicious Italian cuisine.
The third night we ate at de Terrace, my favorite of them all. This open-air restaurant looks over the pool and ocean and serves Jamaican and Caribbean favorites. Just FYI, all of the food was amazing!
The Pool and Beaches
The resort has two pools along with half a mile of beautiful beaches. Something else they have which I really loved was a private island you could walk out to called “Tek-it-Easy.” The pool area always had something fun going on, while the beaches were a great quiet place to relax. I loved that whatever your mood, there was a perfect spot for you to hang out at.
The Spa
There is a spa on site called Sol-Mer which is absolutely heavenly. we’ve had a lot of massages (you might recall that we’ve gotten a chocolate scrub in Bali), but this may be one of the best massages we’ve ever had.
For this trip, we decided to indulge and get a wrap and massage package. Our masseuses were Christina and Audia, and they did such a spectacular job. For the first half of our treatment, we were rubbed down with a milk and honey blend. We thought it smelled amazing!
A warm towel was placed on us and then the plastic that we were laying on was brought up around us for a nice snug wrap. We were so cozy we fell asleep within seconds.
After about 45 minutes (we were told) we were unwrapped and able to shower. When we came back to the tables, they were redone and ready for the massage portion of our treatment. Another 45 minutes of pure bliss.
Other Amenities
Besides all of the impressive amenities mentioned so far, the resort also boasts four bars, a pool-side grill, a gym, tennis court, mini golf, casino, kid zone, and an adult-only area.
Final Thoughts on Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay
During our stay, we met people that had been returning to the resort for years because they loved it so much. We can definitely see why! We would return in a heartbeat as well.
It’s got a little bit for everyone; singles, couples, and families. The staff was always friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the amenities are outstanding. We can’t recommend the Holiday Inn Resort in Montego Bay enough!

** A big thank you to Steve, Sherry, and the Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay. We were offered a room upgrade and a spa discount, but as always, all opinions are our own**
The Holiday Inn looks like a spacious and comfortable place to stay in Jamaica.
It was great! 🙂
This is a really nice Holiday Inn. I will have to remember it since we participate in the IHG rewards program.
That’s great Mindi! Definitely recommend taking advantage of that.
This looks like a great place to stay in Montego. I love all the food choices and amenities.
Yes, the amenities are outstanding and one of the things I loved most about the resort.
Very nice accommodations. I love the beach and pool plus the bed linens are unique. Loved the vibrant colors. Glad you enjoyed. I would have gone face down in that one buffet. 😉
LMAO!! That’s hilarious Mel!
There are often deals from Toronto to Montego Bay. I will pay more attention next time to see if this hotel is part of the package deal. It looks wonderful. I especially like how there are 3 restaurants besides the buffet. I would definitely opt for a room with a beach walk out as well.
I can’t say enough how much we loved this resort! If you get a chance, definitely check it out. 🙂
NICE! I’ve been considering using my Southwest Rapid Rewards to visit Montego Bay, I may just have to check this place out!
You should! It’s so awesome!
Looks lovely, and how I love Jamaica! It has been quite a few years since I’ve been! So many food options .. did you only eat at the resort or were you able to head out and eat at some local places as well?
Unfortunately we didn’t have much time off of the resort, Next time we plan on spending more time outside with locals though.
What a lovely place to spend a weekend! I would love to stay here; private island, and honey and milk scrubs – yes please! Looks like you had an amazing time there 🙂
We did Danielle! 😀
Looks like you had a great stay. The room looked nice and spacious. The desert, I wish I had some of that for later. The pool is something I could use now lol.
Haha! Beautiful pool isn’t it Holly?
This looks like a great place to stay. I would be dying for a swim in that pool and a massage right after it 🙂
Yes!! Can’t recommend the spa enough!
I am not much of a resort type vacationer, but this looks like a great place to hang out and just enjoy for a little bit. The buffet looks amazing and the pool makes me want to dip my toes in.
I rarely do resorts, but this trip was all about relaxation. This resort helped us do just that!
Wow those beach views! And the pool! This is definitely the nicest Holiday Inn I’ve heard of. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Lauren! Yes, nicest one I’ve seen too!
The resort looks great but somehow I see myself in some cabin or shack at the beach when I think of visiting Jamaica. But I guess having a nice pool and spa can’t be bad right? 😉
Not bad at all! 😉
The living area looks a bit simple but I wouldn’t care much about it because… there’s a whirlpool in the bathroom! I’d probably spend more time in there than in the living room, haha! The pool and the beach looks inviting too! Anyways, I love it when hotels offer a variety of options and outlets for their all-inclusive meal package. It makes the package more worth it as it can cater to all kinds of taste buds.
Yes, there was something for everyone to enjoy!
I have been wanting to visit Jamaica! It seems like going the all-inclusive route is the way to go. That pool is beautiful!
It’s a worry free vacation for sure!
Lovely place to spend with love ones! i agree that if you want a worry free vacay then you should be here 😀
Yes, All-inclusives are great for that reason, and this one is by far the best we’ve experienced.
I want to stay here just for the food! Everything looks delicious & so many options. 🙂
Hi Carrie! Oh, the food was SO delicious!
Wow. That is a Holiday Inn? I would never have guessed it. Much nicer than ones I have stayed at in the past. Beautiful accommodations.
