Seattle is a food lover’s dream! There are lots of great options so we’ve highlighted some of the best and most unique places to eat in Seattle, Washington.
Unique Places To Eat In Seattle
There a lot of great restaurants in Seattle. The only problem might be trying to narrow down where to eat! Luckily for us, we had family in the area that was able to point us in the direction of some pretty unique and yummy places to eat.
The Pine Box
Have you ever wanted to drink and eat dinner at a former mortuary? Yeah, us too. Haha! Located about 15 minutes east of Seattle Center, The Pine Box was once a mortuary that has now been converted to a bar/restaurant. They have seating both inside and out, and have over 30 beers on tap.
With casual dining but cathedral ceilings, it’s definitely a different kind of place to hang out. While we were there we tried some beer, wine, the Spicy Hummus with Warm Za’atar Flat Bread & Roasted Garlic Goat Cheese (the cheese was incredible), a Margarita pizza, and their “Big Ass Chocolate Chunk Cookie” for dessert.
This is another fun place to eat. Located on Alki Beach in West Seattle, this restaurant has great Southwestern-Mexican food, beautiful ocean views, and bright and colorful decor. They’ve been voted best Mexican restaurant in Seattle and it’s easy to see why. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was friendly and attentive.
While we were there we had Chips and Guacamole, the House Chimichanga (crispy flour tortilla, chicken, jack cheese and green chile sauce with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream with Spanish rice and black beans), and to wash it all down a Peach Bellini Sparkling Margarita. Yum!!
Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery
So what about satisfying your sweet tooth cravings? Then you have to stop in the cakery that is the creator of the Take-n-Bake Molten Chocolate Cake in a Mason Jar. We stopped in to their location in Ballard, and the aromatic smell of chocolate hit us before we had even walked through the doors.
We ordered the Dark Decadence Molten Cake which comes with a small chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, nib toffee, and salted caramel. Because I’m not a fan of caramel (I know, I know) I ordered mine without it. So, for real, this molten cake was totally awesome!
Pike Place Market
And finally, if you’d just like to pick up some snacks for later, we recommend picking up some goodies at the Pike Place Market. Most likely you’ll be here at some point during your visit anyways. They are obviously famous for their seafood, but you can pretty much find anything your hungry tummy desires.
We stopped in to the famous Beecher’s Handmade Cheese store to pick up some of their Flagship cheese and also to Sotto Voce for some of their delicious Olio Basilico, an olive oil that combines sweet basil, peppercorns, and garlic oil. Along with some bread, wine, and fresh tomatoes, it made the perfect late afternoon snack.
